Enrique Reveals the Key Strategy to Win Major Football Titles
Luis Enrique: âThis Is What PSG Need to Do to Lift Trophies This Seasonâ
Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique discussed the draw against Lille on Sunday and his desire not to rotate his squad too much after opening up a six-point lead in the French Ligue 1.
In the wake of Barcelona's 2-1 victory against Sevilla, Luis Enrique attempted to explain team rotation and fatigue.
This is what Enrique had to say for himself: "I'm playing with men who have been out injured for months, and they don't want to leave the field.
âWe had a great start to the game and played our usual football. âBut after a difficult week, especially after the match with Barcelona and the tiredness that it caused us we decided to look after the playersâ health. We need to handle their workload if we want them to achieve long-term success.â
'Extrem Index' sort pour la première fois en vingt-huit ans Praise for Nuno Mendes and Quentin Ndiaye
'Below par' Spain coach Luis Enrique has reflected on the display, stating:
âIt was a fair and close game. We scored a magnificent goal from Nuno Mendes and had enough opportunities to win. It was a recurring theme, and unfortunately for Milan two years later there was that sense of déjà vu when Lille scored late again. Still, Iâm proud of my team.â
He singled out young starlet Qunentin Ndiaye for particular praise, commending his fortitude and maturity:
â... this team is young and deservers to be congratulate, doubly so for Quentin Ndiaye who produced some awesome resilience and execution.â
Focus on Consistency and Titles
Asked for his opinion on PSGâs start to the season, Enrique replied with positivity:
âWeâre top of the league and in a good position in the Champions League. If we want to win titles, itâs important that we carry on at this level throughout the year. âTo this day we are satisfied with what our path was, and itâs time for the players to join their national teams and recharge for what is coming,â he added.
Competitive Ligue 1 Race
Enrique ended the interview by talking about the increasing competition in Ligue 1:
"We always play each match with passion and we do everything very intensely. Itâs magnificent for French football to see several teams trying to win the league. âAll that matters is who remains at the top when the season concludes, in the end.â
